“Barry Wilson has worked with our church (The First Presbyterian Church of Perry) on and off for the past 15+ years as we moved from our original 1905 downtown location to a new site on the outskirts. He has performed multiple services including developing conceptual and construction design ideas and drawings, clarifying permitting and regulation requirements, providing input on contractors, making suggestions during construction, and generally supporting all our efforts as this multi-faceted project has progressed from our original site/location planning to the construction of an Educational Building and Fellowship Hall to the construction of a New Sanctuary. He is currently involved with us in a “Property Enhancement” project aimed at optimizing the use of our existing facilities.

I can’t say enough nice things about Barry Wilson, his expertise and his willingness to assist us with the plans for our new pregnancy center. He worked faithfully with us for an entire year as we prepared to construct a nearly 5,000 square foot, two-story building.

Barry Wilson gave our ministry tremendous assistance at a time of great need. A Women’s Pregnancy Center is a 25-year-old nonprofit Christian agency that helps women with free services and counseling regarding unplanned pregnancies and resources to help them choose life for their babies. In 2005 we sought to relocate our office next to Florida State. The property we bought had an uninhabitable duplex that needed extreme modifications to make it not only inhabitable but useful. Barry helped us with a design superbly suited to our work and navigated us through the complexities of the business code requirements not only for Leon County but also the City of Tallahassee. The end result is that we have enjoyed a beautifully aesthetic building that was within our budget and has served over 5,000 women since our opening. Barry did all this pro bono. The beauty, efficiency and extreme usefulness of our compact 1,600 foot office is due to Barry’s ability to understand the necessities of the enterprise and execute the ideal plan to accomplish our ministry’s purpose. A Women’s Pregnancy Center will always have a great debt of gratitude to this talented and committed architect.
